International Office | University Jena
The internationalisation of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU) aims in particular at networking the actors inside and outside the FSU. The common interest focuses on strengthening internationality, integration and interculturality and making them more visible. Therefore, the International Office is also represented in the International Center (IC) with a field office from where the mentoring programmes for foreign students and other projects are coordinated.
Throughout the year, the International Office offers various events in the IC, addressing students as well as employees of FSU. The offers range from intercultural trainings, information sessions for those interested in foreign countries, welcome days for students from all over the world to workshops for international teaching and network meetings.
All visitors are welcome!
IO Mentoring Programme
The International Office supports foreign students during their initial phase at the University of Jena. One way of doing so this is to provide incoming students with a mentor who voluntarily supports them during the immatriculation process and also helps them finding their way at the FSU and through the city of Jena. Mentors are usually fellow students who are qualified to help in all matters regarding student life in Jena.
Foreign and German students are likewise welcome to learn more about the Mentoring Programme. If you want to work voluntarily as a mentor or need one youself please do not hesitate to contact us:
Office hours (lecture period): Monday & Wednesday 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Tuesday 1:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m. and by appointment:
